As Sikh youth in New Zealand, we proudly support the 2024 Khalistan Referendum as a peaceful and democratic step toward self-determination. Growing up in a nation that values fairness, inclusion and dialogue, we are inspired by New Zealand's commitment to upholding human rights and believe these principles should extend to all communities worldwide.

The referendum provides Sikhs globally with a platform to express their aspirations for sovereignty, rooted in democracy and respect. We call on all parties to honour this process with understanding and open-mindedness, ensuring the voices of our community are heard without fear or prejudice.

This moment represents more than a political choice—it is about unity, justice and the right to shape our future. As youth, we stand committed to building a world where peaceful dialogue and equity prevail for all.
