The New Zealand Sikh Youth is a Sikh youth-led organisation and registered charity, organised by young Sikhs on 12 July 2020 at the Takanini Sikh Library under the New Zealand Sikh Youth Constitution.
Advocacy: Initiated the dialogue and championed immigration reform, which resulted in the 2021 Resident Visa.
Census campaign: Successfully organised a nationwide census campaign for Sikhs and Panjabi speakers in New Zealand.
Community support: Distributed food parcels during the Covid-19 lockdowns to people in need.
Events: Organised a variety of events to bring the Sikh youth and community together and promote Sikh culture.
Second language bill: Presented a case for Panjabi to be recognised as a national priority language.
